New work for Fleur Barron and the Parker Quartet (Harvard, Philadelphia, Syracuse)

Mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron and the Parker Quartet tour a new work setting poems by Victoria Chang and Arthur Sze. Linking the ecopoetics of the present with traditional Asian poetic aesthetics and the natural world, the work also includes Sze’s translations of Tao Qian. The nature-themed program includes a new arrangement of “The lonely one in autumn” from Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde.
